Yorkshire Sculpture Park

01 / Overview

I developed the new website for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, an internationally renowned open-air art gallery. The goal was to create an engaging digital experience for visitors and provide the park's staff with a simple, powerful way to manage their ever-changing exhibitions, events, and online shop.

  • I built a custom Content Management System (CMS) from the ground up using C# and .NET. This gave the gallery team direct control over all site content, from artist profiles and exhibition details to event listings, without needing technical support.

  • On the frontend, I translated the design into a responsive user interface using JavaScript and Sass. I focused on creating a clean, interactive experience that faithfully represented the gallery's aesthetic online.

  • I integrated a full eCommerce platform for the park's shop. The system, managed through the same custom CMS and backed by a SQL Server database, allowed for efficient inventory and product management.

02 / Problem

The Yorkshire Sculpture Park's staff needed a simple way to manage exhibitions, events and an online shop that change constantly.

03 / Decisions

I built a custom CMS in C# and .NET that manages the shop as well as the site content, so staff handle artists, exhibitions, events and inventory in one place.

04 / Outcome

The responsive site matches the gallery's look, and the team updates content and runs the shop, backed by SQL Server, without technical support.
