Gigs
A self-hosted concert & festival tracker that turns years of gig-going into a personal analytics dashboard.

01 / Overview
Gigs is a personal analytics app I built to replace a spreadsheet I’d used for years to log every concert and festival I’ve been to. It now tracks 240+ gigs going back to 2009 and turns that history into a dashboard of trends, streaks, and stats.
I split it into two independently deployed services — an ASP.NET Core API backed by PostgreSQL, and a server-rendered Nuxt / Vue frontend — joined by a type-safe API client generated from the backend’s OpenAPI schema rather than hand-written.
The dashboard uses Chart.js to visualise gigs per year, ticket-price inflation over time, top artists/venues/cities, and “on this day” callbacks pulled straight from the underlying gig data.
I integrated with Spotify, YouTube Music and setlist.fm to enrich artist and setlist data, plus Google Calendar sync for upcoming shows, and built an AI-assisted CSV import path to bulk-load years of historical records.
It ships as an installable PWA with Auth0 authentication, and deploys automatically to a Digital Ocean droplet via GitHub Actions.
