Asurafin Website

01 / Overview

The Asurafin Website project represents a significant transformation and enhancement of an existing online platform, initially taken over from a third-party. This project exemplifies not only technical proficiency in web development and design implementation but also a strategic approach to website optimisation and content management.

  • Frontend: Recognising the need for improved performance and SEO capabilities, the site was meticulously converted from React to Next.js, harnessing the power of server-side rendering to elevate the user experience and search engine visibility

  • Backend: The backend was expertly crafted using PHP and the Yii framework, ensuring a robust and scalable infrastructure

  • Design: A pivotal aspect of this project was the translation of designs from Figma into highly configurable page components, allowing for dynamic and flexible content presentation

  • CMS: A custom Content Management System (CMS) was developed, enabling precise and easy control over website content

  • DevOps: Continuous integration and deployment are streamlined through GitHub Actions, ensuring seamless updates to my DigitalOcean droplet

02 / Problem

The website, inherited from a third party, was built in client-side React, which held back its performance and SEO, and it needed to carry Asurafin's new branding.

03 / Decisions

I migrated it from React to Next.js for server-side rendering, which improved performance and search visibility without starting the site again from scratch.

04 / Outcome

The rebranded site is built from configurable page components based on the Figma designs, managed through a custom CMS on a PHP and Yii backend, and deployed with GitHub Actions.
