Frontend Platform Redesign Updates
An ongoing modernisation of a data-dense B2B SaaS frontend, backed by the platform's first formal design system.

01 / Overview
Role: Lead / core contributor - architecture & implementation
Led an ongoing modernisation of a data-dense B2B SaaS platform's frontend (Vue/Nuxt), moving it from a functional-but-dated UI toward a considered design system. Established a formal design language - restrained colour palette, dark mode, tabular-numeric alignment for data tables, consistent spacing/typography scale, and accessibility baselines (44px touch targets, ARIA labelling) - and rolled it out across core areas including navigation, dashboards, and the platform's primary data tables. Also modernised UX across specific workflows (task management, proxy voting, note imports, RFP questionnaires, security analysis views) as part of the same effort.
Redesigned primary navigation from a horizontal top nav to a structured sidebar, improving scalability as the product's feature surface grew
Rebuilt the dashboard from fixed cards to a customisable, drag-and-drop widget system
Introduced per-column header filtering across the platform's core data tables, replacing a single global search
Authored the platform's first formal design system (documented conventions for colour, spacing, typography, motion, and accessibility)
02 / Problem
The platform's frontend was functional but dated, with no shared design language to keep a growing, data-dense product consistent.
03 / Decisions
04 / Outcome
Navigation moved from a horizontal top bar to a structured sidebar, the dashboard became a customisable widget system, and core data tables gained per-column filtering in place of a single global search. I also modernised the task management, proxy voting and RFP questionnaire workflows along the way.
